TrackMate for Jira — Documentation

Track time from Jira issues, organise it on a weekly calendar, share activity reports and review your team’s work — inside Jira Cloud.

Getting started

  1. A Jira administrator installs TrackMate from the Atlassian Marketplace.
  2. Open any issue and expand the TrackMate panel. Start the timer, pause when needed and save. The saved time is a normal Jira worklog under your name.
  3. Open Apps → TrackMate for Calendar, Report, Statistics, Team and Settings.

Your Jira permissions always apply: TrackMate shows and changes only what you can see and edit in Jira.

Issue timer

Start, pause, continue and finish a timer from the issue panel. Timers keep running even when your browser is closed, and the optional autosave (every 5 hours by default, adjustable in Settings) keeps the same Jira worklog up to date. Long-running timers are flagged for review before they are saved, so a forgotten timer does not silently create a large worklog.

Weekly calendar

See your week of worklogs on a calendar. Search or filter issues in the side list, then create activities, move or resize them, copy and paste, or continue an existing one. Changes are collected and sent to Jira together when you press Save; you can undo or discard them before saving. While a save is running, edits are paused so nothing is lost.

Customer reports

Choose a date range, pick and order the columns, then show the report or export it as CSV or JSON, or save a PDF through your browser’s print dialog. Reports contain only activity rows and totals, ready to share with customers.

Statistics

Review your own activity: daily totals, project distribution, issue type and status breakdowns and a sortable, filterable worklog table with CSV export.

Team

Add colleagues in Settings → Team, set their working days and man-day hours, then compare members and open each member’s detailed statistics. Team shows the worklogs your Jira permissions allow you to see.

Settings

Choose one of ten interface languages and a light or dark appearance, set your working schedule and daily goal, configure timer behaviour and issue status changes, manage saved JQL filters, and import or export your settings. If you use the TrackMate browser extension, compatible settings are imported automatically.

Data and privacy

TrackMate for Jira runs entirely on Atlassian Forge. It sends no data outside Atlassian’s platform and contains no analytics or tracking. Details: Privacy Policy.

Browser extension

Looking for the Chrome and Firefox extension? See TrackMate – Jira Time Tracker. The two products can be used together; the Jira app and the extension share timer state through your own Jira account.
